Night of the Proms

Classic meets pop

Olympic Hall

A spectacular musical event is on the horizon: The Night of the Proms is going on tour again in 2025, for its 30th anniversary, with a high-calibre line-up of artists.

The line-up includes rock legend Alice Cooper, new wave pioneer Midge Ure, German pop singer Michael Schulte, exceptional soul talent Joss Stone, vocal wonder Vanessa Amorosi and Danish percussion phenomenon Safri Duo. Together with a classical orchestra, choir and band, the result is a rousing bridge between classical and popular music, classical and pop, past and present.

The concept - classical meets pop, passion meets perfection
The Night of the Proms is far more than just an ordinary concert. Since it was founded in Belgium in 1985, it has thrilled hundreds of thousands of spectators throughout Europe every year. What makes it so special: International pop stars perform their greatest hits - but not with a pure rock band, but in opulent arrangements with a large symphony orchestra and classical choir. The whole thing is combined with works from classical music history - from Beethoven and Mozart to modern composers. This combination of orchestral splendour and pop culture creates a musical arc of suspense that guarantees goosebumps. Live, powerful, emotional - the Night of the Proms is a concert experience that transcends genre boundaries and brings people together.

Alice Cooper - the shock rocker with cult status
For over five decades, Alice Cooper has been synonymous with spectacular rock shows with theatrical staging, dark glamour and a provocative appearance. He wrote rock history with songs such as ‘School's Out’, “Poison” and ‘No More Mr Nice Guy’. His trademarks: black eyes, electric guitar riffs and a stage presence that is unrivalled. Cooper is regarded as the founder of "shock rock" and influenced generations of musicians. The fact that he is now performing at the Night of the Proms promises an electrifying combination of orchestral drama and hard rock - a premiere that fans should not miss.

Midge Ure - The voice behind "Vienna"
Midge Ure is an icon of the 80s and far beyond. As frontman of the band Ultravox, he shaped the new wave sound with epoch-making songs such as ‘Vienna’ and ‘Dancing with Tears in My Eyes’. But he also set standards as a solo artist. His involvement in the Band Aid project (‘Do They Know It's Christmas?’), which he launched together with Bob Geldof, demonstrates his social influence beyond music. His soulful voice and the electronic soundscape of his music harmonise perfectly with orchestral arrangements - an ideal addition to the Proms concept.

Michael Schulte - Emotions made in Germany
Singer-songwriter Michael Schulte touched the whole of Europe in 2018 with his ESC entry ‘You Let Me Walk Alone’ and achieved an impressive fourth place for Germany. Since then, he has become an integral part of the German music scene. His songs such as ‘Back to the Start’, ‘Keep Me Up’ and ‘Waterfall’ are on constant rotation on the radio and streaming platforms. With his warm voice, honest lyrics and modern pop productions, he inspires a wide audience - and brings a new generation of music fans to the Night of the Proms.

Joss Stone - British soul voice with global stature
Joss Stone celebrated her international breakthrough as a teenager with the album ‘The Soul Sessions’, which brought her worldwide recognition. Her unmistakable soul sound, characterised by greats such as Aretha Franklin and Lauryn Hill, made her one of the most successful British artists of her generation. With hits such as ‘Super Duper Love’, ‘You Had Me’ and ‘Right to Be Wrong’, she combined retro soul with modern flair. Her soulful, nuanced voice will unfold a whole new emotional depth with the symphony orchestra of the Proms.

Vanessa Amorosi - The voice of Australia
With ‘Absolutely Everybody’, Vanessa Amorosi landed a worldwide hit in the early 2000s and became one of Australia's most successful pop singers. Her powerful voice, her stylistic diversity and her impressive stage energy make her a highlight of every live show to this day. Whether pop, soul, rock or gospel - Amorosi moves effortlessly through the genres. Last year, she wowed the audience at the Night of the Proms as the singer of Dave Stewart's Eurythmics. To demonstrate her versatility, the organisers have invited her again.

Safri Duo - Rhythm as spectacle
The Danish Safri Duo revolutionised the electronic music scene in the early 2000s with ‘Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)’. As classically trained drummers, they brought percussion to the clubs and festival stages of the world. Their live performances are energetic masterpieces: a mixture of tribal beats, electronic sounds and classical virtuosity. At the Night of the Proms, they provide pure energy - a rhythmic thunderstorm that explodes the classical soundscape and sweeps the audience off their seats.
